Don't take our word for it
Mike and Carol we absolutely the best hosts. Very friendly courteous and helpful place to spend the night. Room Was exquisite, very comfortable. Highly recommended this place.
Friendly staff. Awesome food. Beautifully restored.
This was an exceptional B&B. You can tell a lot of love and care went into the renovation of this property. And the restaurant that is on the lower level was excellent. If you are cycling the Natchez Trace I would consider this a must stop as it is only approximately 3 miles off the Trace
Absolutely a wonderful experience from start finish. Food is great! The rooms are great! And the people are absolutely wonderful. The coffee is amazing as well. Definitely a great getaway if you are visiting.
This is a great place to eat and Mike makes you feel at home. Everyone at Gather are super friendly and want you to be happy and full.
Friendly staff, delicious food…couldn’t ask for a better experience
The Over The Hill Gang, a bicycle group ate here on our trip down the Natchez Trace. The service was first rate, the food was perfect…the staff bends over backwards to make you happy as does everyone in this beautiful old southern town. Their goal is to make you happy. Mike, the owner, is proud of his town and is working tirelessly to make all the visitors to Houston feel welcome. Check out his hotel. Enjoy the town of Houston, a model for every town in America.
Gather Coffee + Brew has added what has been needed on the square in Houston. The shop is cozy and has a great selection of food and beverages. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the service is swift. Whether you’re a local wanting to hang out with friends or just passing through, this is a must-go-to place in Houston. Next time we’re in Houston, we’ll definitely be stopping by again!

We had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours here before our show. The food was great, the coffee was even better. But, the standout was the service. Penelope was an absolute delight and should be considered a treasure by the good people of Houston.
Booked on a whim, for an impromptu trip up the Natchez Trace… Pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Overwhelmingly friendly staff. Very nice, small downtown, old building revival atmosphere. Small breakfast/coffee shop (not inclusive), that we thoroughly enjoyed. They have an adjoining restaurant that we did not use, but later heard great things about. Owners present, and involved. Small-town Missippi revitalization at it finest. EVERYONE in this town we encountered, went out of their way to make us feel welcome…..
Brunch at Gather is our fave ❤️❤️
Dear Mike, This hometown girl was made to feel welcome after years of being away. This is the cutest, coziest establishment-good food, good atmosphere, good service! It’s right up there with some of the places in ATL! Made me proud to be back! Congratulations on a job well done!!
I took my seven-year-old granddaughter to Houston MS to Cycle Tanglefoot Trail. I read about Daisy’s on the Square online while looking for a hotel.
Carol went above and beyond to work with me when my original plans did not work out. Let me just say that my experience was so much better than I had expected. Debbie was an awesome host who made sure we had everything we needed.
Our room was clean, spacious, and we both liked the decor. Adaleigh and I both agreed the towels were the best EVER!
We ate dinner Friday night at Just in Thyme – on the recommendation of another guest – the red fish was delicious… and I have never tasted coconut pie better than Debbie’s 😋
Saturday morning we enjoyed breakfast at The Gathering – loved the atmosphere, and our omelette was so very tasty.
This place is definitely a hidden gem…😘
A can’t miss stop if you are in Houston MS. We had breakfast which was great and the coffee superb! We will definitely return on our next trip to bike the Tanglefoot trail. Thanks Mike for a wonderful experience!
Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. Highly recommend Gather for breakfast and lunch and End of the Alley for dinner and drinks.
Wow, what a place! Located just a few blocks from the Tanglefoot Trail, this recently renovated hotel has it all. The rooms are spacious and ready to take your bikes, the hotel has not one, not two, but three different places to eat. Grab some coffee and a scone from Gather Coffee shop, eat lunch at the Dixie Diner (get the onion rings), then have dinner downstairs at Just in Thyme. Seriously, once you’re there you never need to leave. The staff are very accommodating, Carol is absolutely wonderful.
We will definitely make it back to Daisy’s the next time we come to ride the Tanglefoot. It makes an excellent turnaround point if riding from New Albany.
Delightful combination of NYC boutique hotel and warm Southern hospitality. Couldn’t be more centrally located. We stayed in an upstairs room and enjoyed the second-floor porch and the common room where coffee & muffins are provided in the morning. Also pleasant sitting areas in the wide hallways if it’s a rainy day, and the downstairs dining area doubles as a game/sitting room. Excellent crispy thin-crust pan pizzas — again, NYC-worthy if you’re a thin-crust fan. On-street parking only.
I loved it everybody was nice and friendly and the food was extremely good I recommend this to everybody who happened to be traveling to Houston Mississippi stop by for a friend smile and a good home cooked meal
Food was Awesome, small town hospitality and seating outside in the Alleyway was very pleasant! Next time we are up this way , we will stop in again!
Highly Recommended
A great place to relax, meet friends and have a great meal.
WOW! We were not expecting a 5 star dining experience in a small town like this! The meal (Steak and Baked Potato) was amazing. We were cycling the entire Tanglefoot Trail and stayed at Daisy’s as well. Great job catering to cyclists.
I had the shrimp salad. It was delicious. I have had the chicken salad before and it was super good too. They also have specials. Highly recommend.
Wonderful stay! Mike, Carol, and Debbie made me feel very welcome. The hotel is beautiful, and Debbie’s bread pudding is to die for! This hotel is exactly what Houston needs, and I will certainly be back for another stay. The french toast (on Mike’s recommendation) at Gather is definitely worth a try 🙂
